On May 1, 1926, Barnes & Cone was licensed by the City of Syracuse to manufacture concrete block. The license states:

"sell building blocks 8 x 8 x 16 inches at a price
not less than 14 cents per block, f.o.b. Factory"

The price has changed and the products look different, but we have continued to manufacture concrete masonry products at our Court Street Road Plant from that day in 1926.

Since the 1930's when Barnes & Cone introduced "Roman Rough" - the first architectural concrete masonry unit in our market; designers of landmark structures in communities through out the Northeast have selected products made on our machines. By blending aggregates from all over the east coast and Canada we have created a truly unique assortment of colors, textures and shapes to provide attractive sophisticated choices.

Barnes & Cone personnel are very active in all technical aspects of masonry design and construction. We work closely with engineers, architects, landscape architects, contractors and do-it-yourselfers to provide critical information to contribute to a successful masonry installation.
